Personalised Wedding Gift Ideas for the Couple, Made in Scotland

Most of the wedding gifts we make are small and personal, and often a child hands them over: a flower girl, a page boy or a grandchild, with a "Love from" line on a little heart. We make every one to order in our workshop in Scotland, where we've been making gifts since 2014, and we engrave the names and the date exactly as you type them.

A lucky horseshoe from the guests

Our personalised wedding horseshoe is the wedding gift we make most: a keepsake for the couple from a guest or the family. It's 4mm oak veneer, about 13.5 x 15cm, engraved with the couple's names and wedding date, and it costs under £15. Choose white or pale blue ribbon, and add a gift box for £2, or £3 with a ribbon.

It has a little heart charm too, and about seven in ten people use it for a "Love from" line. Often it's a child who presents it: a flower girl, a page boy, nieces and nephews, or a grandchild giving it to Mummy and Daddy. A typical one says "Morven & Tam" and "14th June 2027" on the horseshoe, and "Love from Pippa & Hector x" on the heart.

Horseshoes are usually ordered about three weeks before the wedding, which is plenty of time, as they're dispatched in 2 to 5 working days. Two weeks before is the latest we'd suggest. Gifts for their first home: Mr and Mrs coasters and serving boards

Our Mr and Mrs slate coasters are a pair of heavyweight natural slate coasters, each about 10 x 10cm, engraved with the couple's surname, a heart and, if you like, the year. Type "Mr & Mrs Taylor" in the name box and "2027" in the year box, for example. They're £10 for the pair.

For a couple who love hosting, our personalised cheese board is premium bamboo, about 40 x 30cm, with a food-safe surface, engraved "Sweet dreams are made of Cheese" with their names underneath, such as "Morven & Tam". Our personalised pizza board is bamboo too, 35 x 42cm, and takes any name: the one in the photo says "The Smiths Pizzeria". Both are £29.50, so either gets free UK delivery on its own.

A wedding memory box for cards and keepsakes

Our personalised wedding memory box is a wooden box with a double-hinged lid and a brass effect latch. The lid design reads "Mr and Mrs" above the couple's surname, with their wedding date below, inside a floral wreath. You just type the surname (for example "Wilson") and the date, and we laser engrave the rest. Medium (30 x 20 x 13cm) is £25 and Large (35 x 25 x 17cm) is £30.

Give it with your card tucked inside, and it's where they'll keep the other cards, the order of service and the confetti.

For the day itself: a wedding sign, cake topper and drinks stirrers

If you're the couple or their parents, order these first, as they're needed on the day.

Our oak Mr & Mrs wedding sign is oak veneer, 30cm across, engraved with "Mr & Mrs", the couple's surname and their wedding date, and finished with a white organza ribbon. "Mr & Mrs" is part of the design, so you just type the surname. The one in our photo reads "Mr & Mrs Smith, Est. 25th July 2010" inside a leaf wreath. It's £22.50, and we can make it without hanging holes if you ask.

Our Mr & Mrs wedding cake topper is mirrored acrylic in gold, silver or rose gold, with a choice of Mr & Mrs, Mrs & Mrs or Mr & Mr. It's about 12.5cm wide and 30cm high including the stick, and £11.50. It carries the wording you choose, not names. It isn't edible, so push it in just before the cake is served and take it out before cutting.

Our personalised drinks stirrers are mirrored acrylic, about 15cm tall, in gold, silver, rose gold or mirrored pink, with a name or short message of up to 25 characters, such as "Morven & Tam". They're £2 each, £15 for 10 or £25 for 20, and they work for the hen party too.

Their song: a lyrics card for the first anniversary

Our song lyrics card prints the words of a song in metallic foil on a 300gsm A5 card, with the couple's names, the number of years together and their wedding date, and a Spotify code on the back that plays the song. You tell us the song title and the artist and we find the lyrics, so please check both before you order. It's under £7 and blank inside for your own message.

Choose "1 year" and their first dance song, and it makes a lovely card for their first anniversary. The one in our photo is for a 15th.

How far ahead to order a wedding gift

Everything here is made to order and dispatched in 2 to 5 working days, and Royal Mail or Evri then usually take 2 to 3 working days. UK delivery is free on orders over £20.

Horseshoes are usually ordered about three weeks before the wedding, and that's a good time to aim for with anything here. Two weeks before the wedding is the latest we'd suggest. If it's less than two weeks away, please get in touch before you order and we'll do our best to help.

What is a good personalised wedding gift for a couple?

How far in advance should I order a personalised wedding gift?

About three weeks before the wedding, and no later than two weeks before. Each gift is dispatched in 2 to 5 working days and then usually takes 2 to 3 working days to arrive.

Can you engrave the couple's names and wedding date?

Yes. The horseshoe takes the couple's names (up to 40 characters) and the date (up to 30). The oak sign and the memory box take their surname and wedding date ("Mr & Mrs" is already part of the design), and the coasters take their surname and the year. We engrave exactly what you type. The cake topper is the one exception: it carries the wording you choose, not names.

Do you make wedding gifts for same-sex couples?

Yes. The cake topper comes as Mr & Mrs, Mrs & Mrs or Mr & Mr, and the horseshoe is engraved with whatever names you type.
