Personalised Light Up Christmas Snow Globes with Your Names
Light up Christmas snow globes are one of the loveliest things to switch on when the evenings draw in. Ours are a flat panel of 5mm clear acrylic in the shape of a snow globe, about 20cm high, engraved with Santa's sleigh flying over a snowy village. The panel slots into an LED light stand and the whole picture glows. Our personalised light up snow globe carries your family name, so it becomes a little piece of your Christmas that comes out again every December.
Our four light up Christmas snow globes
We make four designs, from £25 to £27.50. Three of them can be personalised, and every one is over £20, so every one comes with free UK delivery.
- Personalised Christmas LED snow globe: your family name or your own wording, £27
- Search the Skies snow globe: a name or short message, £27
- Merry Christmas light up snow globe: no name needed, £25
- Santa Stop Here snow globe: a child's name, £27.50
All four come on a USB powered light stand, in warm white or multi-coloured.
The personalised Christmas LED snow globe
This is the one most of our customers choose, and the one we've made the most of over the years. Santa and his reindeer fly across the top, there's a little village of houses and a church along the bottom, and your words sit in script in the middle. It's £27 in warm white or multi-coloured.
Here's exactly what to type in the Name box:
- Type the whole wording, exactly as you want it to read. Most people choose "Christmas at the Reids". That's 22 characters, so it fits.
- Up to 25 characters, counting spaces. A couple's names, such as "Ross & Isla", or just the surname work well too.
- Leave it blank if you'd like the globe with no words at all.
We engrave it exactly as you type it, so check the spelling (and the apostrophe) before you add it to your basket.
'Search the Skies' snow globe for Christmas Eve
Our Search the Skies snow globe carries a special line: "May you never be too old to search the skies on Christmas Eve". It's for little ones watching the night sky for Santa's sleigh, and for the grown-ups who still do.
The photo shows the design itself. This globe always has a name or short message added, and we add yours exactly as you type it in the "Name or message" box, up to 30 characters. A first name such as "Arlo" works best, and a short message such as "Love from Nana and Grandad" also fits. It's £27 in warm white or multi-coloured.
Merry Christmas light up snow globe
Our Merry Christmas light up snow globe has the same sleigh and snowy village with "Merry Christmas" in the middle. There's nothing to personalise, so it's a good choice for your own home, or for a gift when you're not sure how a family spells its name. It's £25 in warm white or multi-coloured.
Santa Stop Here snow globe
Our Santa Stop Here snow globe reads "Santa, please stop here for" with your child's name underneath, so Santa knows just where to land. Type the name in the Name box, up to 25 characters; there's room for two, such as "Ella and Alfie". It's £27.50, and it's a cosy sight glowing in a window or hallway on Christmas Eve.
Warm white or colour changing lights?
When you order, you choose from the LED Choice menu, and both cost the same:
- Warm White Lights give a soft, cosy glow that sits well with candles and fairy lights.
- Multi-Coloured Lights give you a colour changing stand, like the turquoise and purple globes near the top of this page.
About six in ten of our customers pick the multi-coloured lights. If the globe is going in a lounge with a log fire and warm lamps, warm white is hard to beat.
How big is it, and how is it powered?
Each acrylic snow globe is about 20cm high and 5mm thick, and it slots into the light stand. It's a good size for a mantelpiece, windowsill, hall table or bedside table. The "Christmas at the Doc's" photo, next to a candle and a little tree, gives you an idea of scale.
The light stand is USB powered, so there are no batteries to change. It comes with a USB cable that has a dimmer and colour switch on it, so you can turn it down to a gentle glow in the evening.
Who to give a light up snow globe to
Christmas globes that light up make a gift on their own, and most of ours are sent as just that: one globe, for one household. As one customer told us: "So so happy with this gift for my friend thank you so much!"
- Parents and grandparents. "Christmas at Nana's" (19 characters) for the house where everyone gathers, or Search the Skies with a short message from the grandchildren.
- A family's first Christmas in a new home. The new family name, glowing in the new window.
- Friends and neighbours. Some customers order two, with a different family name on each, so both households get one.
- Children. Santa Stop Here or Search the Skies for the excitement of Christmas Eve.
If you'd like the same family name on the tree, our personalised Santa and winter village bauble has the same sleigh and snowy village scene in clear acrylic, about 10cm high, for £6.50.
Ordering in time for Christmas
Snow globe orders come in two waves. The early birds order in September and tuck the globe away for December. Then most arrive from late November to mid December. Because a globe is usually a gift on its own, often for another household, it's worth ordering early if you're going to post it on yourself, so it has time for both journeys.
Every snow globe is handmade in Scotland, where we've been making since 2014. Each one is made to order and dispatched in 2 to 5 working days, and UK delivery is free on orders over £20, so every snow globe ships free. The last order date for delivery before Christmas is Monday 14 December. You'll find all of our personalised Christmas snow globes together, and plenty more personalised Christmas gifts in our Christmas shop.
Questions about our snow globes
How are LED snow globes powered?
Ours are USB powered, so there are no batteries. The light stand comes with a USB cable that has a dimmer and colour switch built in.
How big are your light up snow globes?
About 20cm high. Each one is a flat panel of 5mm clear acrylic that slots into its LED light stand.
Can I put our family name on a snow globe?
Yes, on three of the four. Type the whole wording you want, up to 25 characters, such as "Christmas at the Reids". Santa Stop Here takes a name of up to 25 characters, and Search the Skies a name or short message of up to 30. The Merry Christmas globe has no name.
What is the difference between warm white and colour changing?
Warm white gives a soft, cosy glow; multi-coloured gives a colour changing stand. Both are the same price, and you choose in the LED Choice menu.
Will a personalised snow globe arrive in time if I order in December?
Yes, if you order by Monday 14 December. Each globe is made to order and dispatched in 2 to 5 working days, so if you're sending it on to family yourself, order a little earlier.
